The months of May/June are typically when our schools engage in planning for the next school year. This year is no exception, despite our current uncertainty of when schools will reopen. In fact, this year the planning will be even more complex as we will assess and be responsive to any additional learning gaps that exist due to the suspension of classes.

Over the next two months, your child’s teacher may be participating in various planning sessions, either virtual or in-person at school. During this time, they may be unavailable for student correspondence or instructional presentation. The amount of time to be set aside for planning sessions will depend upon the needs of each school. Scheduling details will be communicated to you through your child’s teacher or school.

Please note that teachers will have up until Friday, June 12th to send new work home for students. Friday, June 19th is the last date by which work/assignments can be submitted back to your child’s teacher. These dates are in place to provide sufficient time for teachers to complete year-end report cards.

Once again, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these unique challenges together. Your support during this time has been an amazing encouragement! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate in contacting your child’s teacher or the school principal.

With Gratitude,

Randy Dueck, Superintendent-CEO
